......... I will also treasure the wonderful moment when Narasirato burst on to the
stage on Friday night and a thousand jaws hit the floor simultaneously. It
ranks as my best moment in the fifteen year history of the festival. Thank
you for that gift too!
And finally, a huge thank you for carrying on regardless when the flood wiped out your venue. It must have been very disappointing not to play your combined repertoire after so much work, as well as to have the Big Island Jam reduced so much in scope. It was still a very memorable event though, perhaps even more so because of the circumstances. Jamie McKew from Port Fairy was at the festival, and told me how impressed he was with the group. Very best wishes for all your future endeavours, and especially with your cultural centre. I look forward to seeing you all back in Australia. |
